Applegarth Holiday Cottage ... off the beaten track

Welcome to Applegarth

We are David and Julia, we bought Applegarth in 2019. We've had great holidays in the cottage over the years and have fond memories of our times there. We stay regularly ourselves. We are very pleased to have taken over and to continue to offer Applegarth holidays.

Applegarth is a two bedroom holiday cottage that sleeps four adults. The cottage was built in 1860s as a home for the head teacher of the village school next door.

The cottage sits in its own substantial garden behind the old school and next to St Matthew's churchyard and the lovely Old School Coffee Shop. It is a two minute walk from the centre of the village, the Pub, Station (North York Moors Railway and national rail) and the Grosmont Co-Op and Post Office (Britain's oldest independent co-op). In the other direction the footpath leads through a tunnel to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway engine sheds. There are lovely of country walks from the cottage.
